Every Life Matters: Our Animal Rescue Stories

PFA Tambaram Rescues:Transforming Animal Lives
with Compassion and Action

At PFA Tambaram, we believe every animal deserves a chance at a better life. Here are some of our recent rescue missions that showcase our dedication to animal welfare.

Rescue Request

Story #1: Bond (Dog)

Bond was discovered at the railway station suffering from severe injuries and maggot infestation. After 8 days at PAWs and 10 days in boarding, he has been under the loving care of our volunteer for the past three months, where he continues to recover.
He may have lost his paws, but not his will to live.

Story #2
Deer with Entangled Iron Ring

Volunteers reported a deer limping due to an iron ring entangled around its leg, causing a deep wound and compromised blood flow. We immediately notified forest officials, and after a 4-hour joint operation with the forest department and local community, we successfully rescued the deer. After administering first aid, the deer was transported to Guindy Park for rehabilitation.

Dangers to Deer in Urban Areas

Physical obstructions

Man-made objects, such as the iron rings in this case, and even garbage can cause injuries, entanglement, and even death.

Vehicular traffic

In urban and suburban areas, traffic collisions pose a significant threat to deer.

Stray animal attacks

Free-roaming dogs and other animals can chase and injure deer, sometimes fatally.

Food Scarcity

Urban development replaces deer's natural food and water sources with non-nutritious vegetation and contaminated runoff, leading to illness.
